The relations between Brazil and South America, in each time of our history, introduce news surprises. First of all, at the Discovery Age, all the countries were under the European control. Brazilians under the portugueses and the rest under the spanishes. With the Independence, in nineteen century, they felt that if they were bigger, they would have more power, and therefore to dominate the region. For that reason, the borders trouble did not delay to happen. Not only with Brazil and its neighbors, but also among them. All countries wanted more ground and an exit for the sea. This subject dominated the second part of the continent.
Due to caudillos presidents, the region stayed acquaintanced like gunpowder barrel, and almost all countries had a military government. Poverty, violence, corruption and drugs traffic made part of that history. But, with the approach twenty one century, the region changed its characteristics. There was a growth in economy, the misery decreased and the countries entered in the world globalization and some are called emergents. Countries like Brazil, Argentina and Chile don´t leave doubt that the region developed. From now on, only the future will show us the evolution of South America.
